We got funded: Innocheque grant for ioFM
“Hybrid IFC & Gaussian Splats” for next-gen digital twins

1.9.2026

We've received an Innocheque grant from Innosuisse — and we're excited to get started!

"Hybrid IFC & Gaussian Splats", that's the study we're kicking off with Berner Fachhochschule BFH, backed by an Innosuisse Innocheque.

Why it matters: most estate portfolios still have no usable digital twin. The 2D plans are years old. The scans meant to replace them sit unstructured on a server. Neither one tells the owner how the building performs today.

So we're testing a pipeline that fuses point clouds, Gaussian Splats and old 2D plans into space-aware IFC models. Machine learning does the segmentation, an FM ontology gives the spaces meaning.

The BFH team is led by Prof. Katharina Lindenberg. The Innocheque is a small grant with one job: prove feasibility before we apply for a full Innosuisse project.
