Fresh insights from the Venice Biennale 2025

Fresh insights from the Venice Biennale 2025

29.9.2025

Three days at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition titled "Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective". ioLabs never misses a chance to explore the latest construction, architecture, and technology trends. One highlight stood out: the Spanish Pavilion.

Why it resonated:The Spanish Pavilion introduces “Internalities” - a framework that shifts focus from externalized impacts to locally rooted production ecosystems, reducing long-distance supply chains while aligning ecology with economy. Beyond the theme, the pavilion delivered: high-quality exhibits, great spatial design, strong photography and a clear, thoughtful curatorial direction from start to finish.

3 takeaways we’re bringing back to ioLabs:

  • Build with local ecosystems and shorter supply chains to cut embodied carbon.
  • Treat waste as resource (residues) and design for circularity.
  • Connect people, materials, and energy in one continuous, data-driven workflow.

Curious how we put this into practice? See our case studies.
