Zapper: the innovative collaboration platform based on Autodesk Forge technology connecting Autodesk Revit and standardized ERP-Systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Grimm GmbH, a forward-thinking construction company, sought to digitalize their corporate processes and turned to the development of the Zapper platform. Powered by Autodesk Forge technology, Zapper seamlessly integrates Revit with ERP-Systems, optimizing the company's infrastructure. As part of the project, a mobile app was developed to enhance customer experience. Grimm partnered with internal start-up Sumoo and ioLabs AG to bring Zapper to life.
Custom Revit plugins were created to enable the use of ERP-System data in Revit models, which are stored in Autodesk BIM 360 Cloud. Zapper accesses this data via API interfaces, facilitating construction-specific processes such as calculations and submissions. Unity is utilized for high-end real-time renderings, ensuring visually stunning visualizations. With our own synchronization tool "Mapper," BIM Managers can seamlessly synchronize project data between BIM 360 Docs and Microsoft Teams or SharePoint, ensuring data consistency.
Zapper encompasses modules for version comparison, cost estimation, bill of quantities, documents, and tickets. Already implemented in the early project stages, such as programming, conceptual design, and documentation, Zapper aims to expand its functionality to include fabrication, 5D, construction logistics, and facility management in the future. A prototype client app for facility management is already available, empowering Grimm's customers to control and manage their BIM projects efficiently.
